While some say Journal Square is the crossroads of Jersey City, others consider it the crossroads of America.
When the weather is nice, people of all different ethnicities sit around the main fountain to take in the sights and sounds of the city. Some even say the people in Journal Square are what makes it distinctive.
The square was named after the Jersey Journal newspaper, which has its offices in the square. The Loews Theater also makes the square unique. The historic theater has been remodeled over the years and holds special programs throughout the year.
Luxury condos are being built in Journal Square. Many hope that as the area develops with more housing and retail shops it doesn?t lose its character and eccentric flavor.
