New Jersey saw a wide variety of weather on Friday – basically encapsulating the up-and-down weather this winter has seen so far.
High temperatures broke records in Newark at 59 degrees Friday morning. But temperatures have since cooled into the upper-30s.
There was a tornado warning in southern New Jersey and strong winds have caused damage around the state. Winds reached up to 60 mph in some areas.
News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says that Friday afternoon will continue to see rain showers and possible snow squalls. Coastal flooding may also be a concern.
The weather is expected to settle down by the overnight hours with a partly cloudy sky and temperatures in the mid-20s.
Saturday will see mostly sunny skies with temperatures around 40 degrees. Wind gusts of around 15 mph are expected.
Sunday will see a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures slightly warmer in the mid-40s.
Monday is expected to be mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers. High temperatures should be around 48 degrees.
