News 12 New Jersey crews took Thunderbolt 12 to High Point State Park in Sussex County, where some snow had fallen Monday morning.
High Point State Park is at 1,500 feet above sea level, and temperatures were in the upper-20s Monday morning, causing thick and wet snow to form. That snow stuck to some colder surfaces like the grass and on some vehicles.
Areas of higher elevation tend to see more snow during the colder months.
News 12 meteorologists predict that a major snowstorm heading to New Jersey on Wednesday could have a significant impact on areas like High Point State Park, where up to 18 inches of snow could be possible.
