A pilot and student escaped serious injury after their small plane made a crash landing at Morristown Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The plane landed without part of its landing gear Friday afternoon. The plane was able to land with its back wheels, but the front landing gear did not fully deploy. Fire crews were called to the scene after the landing.

The small plane belonged to the ATP flight training school. The flight instructor and student were the only ones on board. No one on the ground was hurt during the incident, according to officials.

It marked the third crash involving a small plane in New Jersey within 24 hours. On Thursday a single engine plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Atlantic City, and in Bedminster, the wreckage of a small plane was found in a wooded area near Somerset Airport.
