The owner says the store has changed with the times, and that their big item is light fixtures. He says in the past, the store sold transistor radios and even played the first TV broadcast in their store.
Small Business Saturday started in 2010 as an idea of American Express. It was formally recognized by Congress in 2017.
According to Small Business Association, nearly 2 million people are employed by small businesses in New Jersey.
