New Jersey residents looking to play slot machines may not have to head to Atlantic City casinos anymore.
New York and Pennsylvania have started putting slot machines inside racetracks and the Meadowlands is considering jumping on the bandwagon. According to one Meadowlands employee, staying competitive is the key and losing customers to other states wouldn?t be good for business.
While most people say putting slots at the Meadowlands would generate a lot of business, others worry it might promote gambling addictions. Advocates for people with gambling addictions warn if slot machines are added, the state would need to make more prevention and education programs available.
