Skeletal remains found by a Maryland creek bed last week have been matched to a missing woman from New Jersey.

The Lopatcong Township Police Department reported 46-year-old Kimberly Gordon missing a month ago.

She was last seen around 2 p.m. on June 21 behind the Sky Zone at 8645 Pulaski Highway.

At the time, investigators said they believed she was involved in a crash and may have experienced a head injury.

Baltimore County police later responded to Route 702 and Interstate 695 for a report of possible human remains on July 17.

The remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The department confirmed the remains belonged to Gordon on Thursday.

Her cause of death remains under investigation.
