Fyre Festival, the music festival that ended in disaster in 2017, is coming back.
Billy McFarland, the Short Hills man who served prison time for fraud for his role in the original event and the current organizer, announced that “Fyre Festival 2” will be on April 25.
Seven years ago, fans who bought tickets for Fyre Festival spent thousands of dollars for a “luxury weekend” of music performances on an island in the Bahamas.
Instead, there were reports of damp tents, wet mattresses and cheese sandwiches.
McFarland posted to social media that Fyre Festival 2 will take place on a private island off the coast of Mexico.
Packages for the event are priced between $1,400 and $1.1 million. McFarland says 100 tickets have already sold at $500 each.
