Imani Smith, a 26-year-old Broadway star was stabbed in the neck and killed in Edison last month.

A man who family members claim was her boyfriend has been arrested and charged in connection to her death.

News 12 has obtained police bodycam footage of the aftermath of the incident.

The video appears to show the man who's been arrested in connection to the deadly stabbing, 35-year-old Jordan Jackson Small. He can be seen standing over her body when the police arrive.

According to an affidavit obtained by News 12, Jackson Small claimed self-defense.

However, neighbors told News 12 this wasn't the first time there had been an altercation in the apartment.

"I overheard a man yelling, and I'm thinking it's their usual nonsense because it's not the first time they've gotten into things or police have been called," said Rock Smith.

Despite emergency responders' attempts to safe Smith's life, she died.

"I just hope in the future that young couples, especially young men these days, they really get help before they think about doing something they can't get back from," the neighbor said.

Jordan Jackson Small is facing several charges, including murder.
