Fairview man charged with sexually assaulting juvenile in Cliffside Park, prosecutors say
Bergen County investigators allege the 24-year-old assaulted the juvenile on more than one occasion.

A Fairview man has been charged with sexually assaulting a juvenile on multiple occasions in Cliffside Park, Bergen County prosecutors announced Thursday.
Gerson I. Canil Garcia, 24, was arrested June 30 following a joint investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit and the Cliffside Park Police Department.
The investigation began June 28 after Cliffside Park police contacted the prosecutor's office regarding allegations that a juvenile had been sexually assaulted in the past. Investigators determined that Canil Garcia allegedly sexually assaulted the juvenile on more than one occasion in Cliffside Park, prosecutors said.
Canil Garcia was charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing in Superior Court.
