A severe thunderstorm is moving across New Jersey Wednesday evening, leaving damage in its wake.
The storm produced heavy rain and strong winds, causing flooding and power outages around the state. Over 22,000 utility customers lost power as the storm moved through.
News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says that storms should last through the evening hours.
A heat advisory is also in effect for much of the state as temperatures rose above 90 degrees. New Jersey residents should limit their time outside as much as possible.
Thursday may also see scattered thunderstorms with high temperatures in the mid- to upper-80s. Skies are expected to be mostly cloudy.
Friday is also expected to see mostly cloudy skies with another chance for a thunderstorm. High temperatures are expected to be around 88 degrees.
