Nearly 20 dogs were rescued from a home in Jackson Tuesday morning.
The Associated Humane Society says 17 dogs were pulled from the home's garage. Many had matted fur that was covered with urine and feces.
Officials say that the garage had little to no ventilation. The dogs apparently were born in the garage and never left to go outside.
The dogs won't be ready for adoption for quite some time because they will need to learn socialization, according to the society.
It was not immediately known if the owners would be facing any charges.
