An attorney for Sen. Bob Menendez says he's appealing a ruling allowing the corruption case against his client to move forward and will take it to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary.
A three-judge panel issued the ruling Friday.
The attorney, Abe Lowell, says the charges against Menendez should be thrown out because of a constitutional clause that protects the actions of sitting lawmakers.
Menendez is accused of accepting gifts in exchange for political influence.
