Select NJ Transit trains not operating due to heat-related rail equipment issues

The company says select trains will not operate or will be combined with other trains, and some will make additional stops.

Broken air conditioning has NJ Transit pulling rail cars out of service and adjusting schedules for at least today and tomorrow.
NJ Transit says that heat-related rail equipment issues have affected the air conditioning units and other electronic components on many of its rail cars, leading to select trains not operating.
News 12's Tony Caputo spoke with riders in Edison.
Dhulam Shabbil, of Edison, says riding without air conditioning is horrible, especially all the way to New York.
NJ Transit says it is company protocol not to use a train in passenger service if an air conditioning issue is known, even if the train is otherwise operational.
