Security was tightened for Saturday?s air show at McGuire Air Force Base, in light of the alleged terror plot against soldiers at Fort Dix.
While spectators had their eyes on the skies, base security kept their eyes and ears on the ground. Added security proved necessary, as organizers of the event expected more than 2,000 people to attend.
Federal and state officers complimented event security and provided a more visible presence. Base security urged onlookers to be aware of suspicious activity and behavior.
The air show will run through Sunday May 13 and features the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds along with the Army's daring Golden Knights Parachute Team.
