There was an increased police presence at Livingston High School Tuesday after reports of a threat posted on social media.
Essex County Prosecutor's Office spokeswoman Kathy Carter says the prosecutor and Livingston Police Department are investigating the "non-specific threat" that was posted on a social media site, which referenced the high school.
Officials say that the threat does not appear credible, but security was increased as a precaution.
Anyone who might have more information about the threat is asked to contact the prosecutor's office or Livingston Police Department.
