Several shore events were canceled Sunday in the wake of the pipe bomb explosion Saturday in Seaside Park and the explosion in Chelsea, New York. But one beach town is refusing to let fear ruin a late summer weekend.
For the last eight years, chefs from up and down the coast compete at the annual Que by the Sea event for top barbecue honors.
The event draws thousands of hungry people to the streets of downtown Seaside Heights.
Among the weekend events canceled due to Saturday's incident were Point Pleasant Beach's Seafood Fest and Belmar's Feast of San Gennaro.
News 12 was told extra security was on the grounds and that police and other units searched the entire area on Saturday.
