Sea Girt lifeguards rescued more than 100 people over the weekend.
With air temperatures soaring into the 90s and ocean temps right around 70 degrees, many people took their first dips of the summer at their local beaches.
Sea Girt lifeguards posted a video on their Twitter page of a rescue with assistance from Manasquan Marine Rescue to demonstrate the drastic change in conditions from beach to beach.
According to lifeguards, rip currents, sand bars and sand holes were the main danger. They say that swimming close to the lifeguard stands is the safest option when such conditions are present.
