A sculpture that is beloved in Titusville has returned to its customary home.
The sculpture, which was taken from a front yard, was about to be sold at an auction in South Jersey. It is valued at $5,000 and weighs 100 pounds.
A person attending the auction thought it was stolen and reported it to police, says Hopewell Township Police Chief George Meyer.
The artist who made the sculpture, Dana Stewart, is ecstatic to see the sculpture back on the ?grassy knoll? he always envisioned would be its home.
?This is perfect,? he says.
Police say they are questioning the person who brought the sculpture to the auction and that charges in the case are expected.
