Students from a Manville elementary school got a surprise when they arrived at school Thursday to find their school principal dressed up as Santa Claus and throwing candy canes from the roof.
It happened at Weston Elementary School, which had a tradition of celebrating holidays from around the world. The principal on the roof kicked off the event.
"I think for kids any time they get to be exposed to any type of holiday cheer, all types of celebrations, it’s really special for them,” says first-grade teacher Lauren Devries. “They might not get to do that outside of school so for us to be able to introduce and celebrate with them, it's really exciting."
The students started the day learning about all the different holidays celebrated around the world.
