(AP) - Two North Caldwell school campuses were locked down Tuesday as a precaution after school officials received information concerning the health and safety of a student.
District officials say regular dismissal was expected Tuesday following a lockdown at the West Essex Senior High School. Regular dismissal was also anticipated at the neighboring junior high school.
Superintendent Mario Cardinale says the administration met with local law enforcement and as a precaution locked down the high school.
The lockdown was lifted after police checked the high school and deemed it safe.
The schools serve over 1,000 students from Essex Fells, Fairfield, North Caldwell and Roseland.
