A Sayreville woman is still demanding justice for a 2007 crash where a state trooper allegedly crashed his cruiser into her SUV.
Detective Thomas DeMaio allegedly smashed his car into Michelle Bruce?s vehicle while it was parked in the driveway of her home last year. Bruce says she?s convinced alcohol played a part in the accident.
?I?m 100 percent upset about how the police handled this,? she says. ?I?m 100 percent upset that he?s still sitting behind a desk and has a job.?
The woman?s husband estimates the damages cost about $20,000. They have since been repaired.
A state police spokesman says the case has been handed to the state attorney general?s office for ?investigation of possible criminal liability.? The attorney general?s office will neither confirm nor deny the investigation.
Bruce is demanding answers.
"I want the truth. I want the facts. I want the report, and I want the punishment. I want to know what punishment is given to him," she says.
DeMaio is still assigned to desk duty.
