The Salvation Army of Montclair is celebrating Thanksgiving by giving away more than 200 meals to families in need.
The group will also host its 39th community dinner on Thursday where families can enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner.
“A lot of people don’t have anywhere to go on Thanksgiving. We provide community. People have become friends and it’s a great way to give back to the community,” says Annamarie Goglia, director of volunteers.
“I think that life can change in an instant and when there are organizations like the Salvation Army that are there for you as a safety net…it is extremely important and helpful for survival,” says Loanne Greco Synder, of Montclair.
Those who wish to volunteer with the Salvation Army can find more information on the group’s website.
