Sad news for Scarlet Knights fans: Rutgers will not be a part of March Madness this year.

The team watched the selection for the NCAA men's basketball tournament behind closed doors where for the first time in three years they didn't hear their names called.

Many predicted Rutgers would get in. The Scarlet Knights went 10 and 10 in the rugged Big 10 but struggled late in the year and scheduled weaker opponents for non-conference play.

Coach Steve Pikeill says the team will accept a bid to the NIT.
