The body of a man was recovered in the Navesink River in Monmouth County Tuesday morning, according to Rumson police.
The Coast Guard says Sea Bright Fire Rescue pulled the body from the water. New Jersey State Police then notified next of kin.
The man’s name and age has not been released yet.
Police say they initially responded to a call for a missing person around 5:30 a.m. They say the man went fishing and did not make it back when he said he was going to.
According to authorities, the man’s pickup truck was parked in the parking lot. They believe he went out on a kayak and never returned.
