Emergency crews were at the scene of a partial roof collapse at the Maria L. Varisco Rogers Charter School in Newark.
Officials say the collapse happened just after 1 p.m. Friday at the school on Woodside Avenue. Police shut down the roads in the area while crews searched the building.
Authorities say that no students were inside at the time of the collapse and all staff members who were inside were safely evacuated. No injuries were reported.
The roof collapsed into a second floor classroom area, according to police.
Officials did not immediately say why parts of the roof collapsed, but say that the building is still structurally stable.
