Nurses demonstrated outside Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick Monday to gain support in labor negotiations.
The nurses will reportedly hold three consecutive days of informational picketing to gain the public?s support. Hospital officials presented the nurses with a final offer on July 17 after three months of negotiations. The nurses? union will vote on that offer July 27.
A hospital representative says the offer is fair and competitive with other hospitals in the area. However, the nurses? union reportedly believes the deal will not be approved. The main sticking point in negotiations is a health plan.
