According to a filing with the U.S. District Court, Robert Frazer has been appointed as the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey.
Former Acting U.S. Attorney Alina Habba congratulated Frazer in a social media post.
Earlier this month a judge "disqualified three Justice Department officials from overseeing federal prosecutions in New Jersey, saying they were appointed as part of an illegal power grab by the Trump administration," the Associated Press reported.
Frazer's appointment is effective immediately.
