A Ringwood man has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses after investigators found hundreds of files of child sex abuse material in a cloud-based account, authorities said.

Matthew M. Graney, 31, was charged with first-, second- and third-degree crimes related to the possession and maintenance of child sexual abuse material, according to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Thomas Adamo said the investigation began after detectives received multiple complaints involving illegal online activity and the storage of child sexual abuse material.

Authorities said detectives later identified Graney using specialized technology and uncovered more than 700 files containing the material.

Graney, who authorities said works as a waiter, was taken into custody March 28 in Jackson Township and transported to sheriff’s headquarters in Wayne. He was later remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first court appearance.
