Restrictions are still in place for trains in and out of New York's Penn Station as Amtrak workers repair a 300-foot section of electrical cable that caused recent delays.
Amtrak spokesman Craig Schulz says repairs in the south tube should be finished by Monday. Workers then would switch to the north tube to repair a second cable.
During repairs, the number of trains allowed in the tunnel at a given time is restricted. Schulz says the disruption is minor and most trains aren't experiencing delays.
The two cables failed last week, delaying commuters on four of five days and again Monday.
The problems have jumpstarted discussions of building new tunnels, and Governors Chris Christie and Andrew Cuomo are expected to meet with federal transportation officials in the next few weeks.
