Dangerous, icy road conditions, especially in the northwestern parts of the state, caused dozens of accidents Sunday.
Speed restrictions were set on some streets and major roadways, including the Garden State Parkway, as salt and sand spreaders were out treating the streets for the snow and wintry mix that hit the region.
Drivers were urged to be aware of ice on roads, bridges, ramps, sidewalks, and other surfaces. They were also advised to leave extra time to get to their final destinations.
However, those who didn't have to be out on the streets said the snowfall created picturesque views and put many in the holiday spirit.
Giuseppe Colombo, a delivery driver, says he didn't love the snow, but the bad weather was good news for the pizza delivery business.
"We get very busy on deliveries. I like delivering in the snow because I make good money," he said.
