Thousands of New Jersey residents flocked to the Jersey Shore to kick off Memorial Day weekend.
Gov. Chris Christie visited Point Pleasant Beach and Seaside Heights to help gain publicity for all there is to offer at the beach.
He says that business is alive and booming at the shore for the unofficial start to summer.
Activities at the Jenkinson's Boardwalk included playing ball on the beach, boardwalk games, mini golf and sunbathing.
