Water service has been restored for some tenants at several apartment buildings in Newark after it was unexpectedly cut off on Wednesday for dozens of people.

Tenants told News 12 New Jersey that Boomers Management LLC is the landlords who own more than 20 buildings in the Newark area. They say that tenants in other buildings experienced their water being shut off for almost 24 hours.

News 12 and tenants were unable to get in touch with the company. Tenants say this has been just one of many issues they've recently encountered during their ownership. They say mold, rats, water damage and elevators that don't work are other issues that they've been dealing with for the past few years.

They're hoping city officials will hold landlords accountable so that this doesn't happen again.
