Dozens of residents gathered outside the home of Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano Saturday demanding he resign after he was arrested Thursday during an FBI corruption sting.
Authorities claim Cammarano, who has been on the job just 23 days, took more than $25,000 in bribes. FBI agents arrested 44 New Jersey officials, lawmakers and others Thursday as part of a federal corruption probe. Hoboken resident Barbara Bravo says she started a petition for the mayor to resign to express her anger at the alleged corruption.
Cammarano has not announced plans to step down as mayor. He was released on $100,000 bail.
