The NJSPCA is working to save over 300 animals rescued from a home in Hunterdon County.
Nearly 300 rabbits, 27 guinea pigs, 2 chickens and a calf were found inside a home in Hampton Borough last week. Officials say the cages the rabbits were found in were filled with feces. The calf was being kept in the basement.
A YouCaring fundraiser webpage has been set up to pay for food and medical care for the animals.
Officials say that the cost to spay and neuter the rabbits could cost at least $30,000.
Rescuers say that it took nearly 18 hours to remove all of the animals.
Charges against the owners have not yet been filed.
