More than 150 cats and kittens rescued from an allegedly unstable Chester Township home in March were put up for adoption Saturday.
Volunteer Claudine Chung, of the Friends of Randolph Animal Pound, says the cats have come a long way since being removed from the Chester Township home, which authorities found covered in urine and feces. Chung says all the animals were vaccinated, spayed, neutered and nursed back to health.
Jane Page, of New Vernon, adopted a 6-month-old Calico kitten and Rich Ciccarelli, of Warren Township, and his family adopted two kittens. A $25 donation is required to adopt one of the cats.
Those cats and kittens not adopted Saturday will be available for adoption May 23 at the former Seeing Eye Kennel in Mendham Township.
