A review of campus crime reports shows college drinking at schools across New Jersey is at an all-time high, increasing last year by 11 percent.
According to an NJ Advance Media review of campus crime reports, last school year, more than 2,600 people were arrested or referred to campus officials for discipline of alcohol violations at the state’s four-year colleges.
The college with the most offenses was Rowan University with 100 liquor law arrests, and 387 referrals for discipline.
New Jersey City University had the least amount.
School officials say the numbers largely depend on how vigilant colleges are about catching students drinking and punishing them if they break the rules.
