According to the American Automobiles Association (AAA), August 8 is one of the five deadliest days on the road for teen drivers on dates between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
AAA says the statistics are most likely due to teens tending to drive more often and with less supervision toward the end of the summer.
The group is asking teens to eliminate trips without purpose, limit passengers and restrict night driving.
In order, the days rank July 4, June 10, August 14, August 8 and July 9, according to recent statistics.
