U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell says he's doing fine after nearly collapsing due to heat exhaustion at an event Tuesday with Sen. Bob Menendez.
The 81-year-old, who represents New Jersey's 9th Congressional District, appeared to become weak and was assisted by firefighters onto a chair.
"Thanks for all your concern, support, and well wishes," Pascrell tweeted Wednesday. "If you have to suffer from heat exhaustion anywhere, make it a firehouse. I deeply appreciate all the assistance from our first responders."
He followed up that tweet by saying he was at home, spending the Fourth of July with family.
