FORECAST:
The cold and windy weather is here to stay for another day. Today is a carbon copy day of yesterday and it will also be a carbon copy of tomorrow's weather. Highs struggles to warm past the freezing mark with gusts near 25-35 mph through the midday. The wind is stronger when the sun is up. Crosswinds on elevated roadways are concerns for today. There will also be crosswinds along the NJ Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway - in addition to other north-south facing roads where vehicles move at high speeds. Please be careful.
Clouds build on Friday ahead of an approaching coastal storm that will very likely take the southern route - keeping impacts to New Jersey low.
With the storm jumping offshore to the south, light snow is still expected across New Jersey, but it should not leave for big accumulations. One to three inches of snow is currently predicted as the "first call" for snowfall accumulation across most of southern and south-central New Jersey. The rest of the state will see snow, but it will be light. This snow will stick quickly as the ground is very cold.
The snow is anticipated to arrive early on Saturday so it should be over by the afternoon. However, the specific timing still needs time to ascertain. Beyond the light Saturday morning snow, the weather should turn fair for Sunday with quiet weather into early next week before the cold and windy conditions return by midweek.
