The Red Cross says 30 people are without a home following a fire at an apartment building in Perth Amboy early Sunday morning.
The fire department was called to 118 State St. just before 1 a.m. They say flames were in the back of the apartment building and spread to all three floors and the cockloft.
Officials say everyone from the seven apartments got out safely due to working smoke detectors. The Red Cross says it's helping the nine families with housing, food and clothing.
