Raritan High School in Hazlet closed early Monday because of the rainy weather.

According to the superintendent, the weather caused a power surge in the school.

The superintendent says the surge blew out a fuse, reducing power to parts of the school.

The hallway, the gym, the food preparation area and the cafeteria were all without power throughout the day.
