Despite the cloudy skies and a brief period of rain, hundreds packed the beach in Belmar Wednesday for the annual sand castle building competition.
Those competing in the 21st Annual Sand Castle Contest didn?t let a little rain get in the way. Expert builders say water is actually the key to the perfect sculpture.
Hundreds registered determined to win. Those competing built cars, fish, penguins, temples and, of course, castles.
