Students in the Glen Rock School District are being warned about the dangers of sexting. Sources tell News 12 New Jersey that a student, believed to be an eighth-grade girl, used her cell phone to send racy photos of herself and that they were later forwarded to other students. School officials have given any student that was sent the photos 24 hours to delete them. Police say they are investigating the case, but the police chief says it has been overblown.Glen Rock High School is scheduled to hold a student assembly Thursday to talk about sexting and sexing.Sexting is referred to when someone sends sexual images using a cell phone and sexing is when someone sends sexual images using any interactive technology, such as a computer. Authorities say an increasing number of teens are taking part in sexting and sexing and that the images are considered child pornography. A 14-year-old girl in Clifton was recently arrested for allegedly posting explicit pictures of herself online.
