A rabies alert is currently in effect in Middletown after township health officials say a sick raccoon was found over the weekend.
The animal was found Sunday fighting with two dogs around Normandy Court.
The raccoon was sent to the state lab for testing, and the results came back positive for rabies.
Both dogs were licensed and vaccinated.
Residents are being reminded not to interact with wildlife under any circumstance.
