Six ducklings were safely rescued after becoming trapped inside a storm drain, thanks to a quick-thinking resident and Piscataway police.
The rescue unfolded after a resident heard ducklings calling out for their mother from deep inside a storm drain.
Realizing the ducklings could not climb out, the resident contacted Piscataway police for help.
When officers arrived, the resident offered to assist directly with the rescue.
He carefully reached into the storm drain and retrieved the ducklings one at a time.
Officers gathered the ducklings as each was pulled to safety.
Once all six were rescued, police returned them to their mother, who was waiting nearby.
