A damaged tractor‑trailer is snarling the morning commute after its trailer buckled on Route 1 & 9 northbound in Linden.

The Beacon Scrap Iron and Metal trailer appeared to collapse in the middle while traveling northbound near Westbrook Drive.

The incident happened near the entrance to Rosedale Cemetery, just north of the Home Depot shopping center.

The truck was carrying scrap metal, including copper, according to information shared at the scene.

Crews from Beacon Scrap Iron and Metal were brought in to offload the cargo.

Workers used a forklift to remove large reels and boxes of copper from the damaged trailer and transfer them into another truck.

Traffic has been reduced to one lane in the northbound direction as the offloading continued.

Drivers were warned to expect significant delays during the morning commute.

There was no word on what caused the trailer to buckle.

No injuries were reported.
