Newark officials are asking the public for help with identifying suspects in connection with a theft at a downtown chicken restaurant.

The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. at Mad for Chicken in the 200 block of Market Street. Officials say surveillance videos show a male and female suspect, along with another man, grab the victim’s bag and take $700 before leaving the eatery.

It's not clear if the $700 was stolen from the victim's bag or from the restaurant.

According to officials, the first suspect is a man described as having a white complexion and thin build. He was wearing a white hat, gray shirt with white lettering, blue jeans and brown shoes. The second suspect is a woman described with a light complexion and thin build. She was wearing a dark gray jacket and an olive-green dress.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspects is asked to call the Police Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
