The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office is asking for the public's help identifying a man wanted in connection with a sexual assault in Jersey City earlier this month.

Police were notified of the assault on Wallis Avenue shortly before 7 p.m. Oct. 17, according to prosecutors.

A woman reported that an unknown man followed her for several blocks before sexually assaulting her.

Authorities described the man as approximately 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall with dark facial hair.

Prosecutors provided a photo of the person of interest as investigators work to identify him.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit at 201-915-1234 or submit an anonymous tip at hcpo.org/tips.
