A 22-year-old Clifton man has been arrested following a months-long investigation into child sexual abuse material allegedly stored in an online account, the Passaic County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday.
Jontae O. Izquierdo was arrested Wednesday after detectives executed search warrants at a Clifton residence, according to Sheriff Thomas Adamo.
Investigators identified Izquierdo as allegedly responsible for storing numerous images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of infants and children in an online photo-sharing and cloud storage account, Adamo said.
Authorities also allege Izquierdo used Cash App to complete two transactions to purchase additional child sexual abuse material from an unidentified internet user.
Izquierdo was charged with first-degree distribution of child pornography, first-degree maintaining child pornography and second-degree possession of child pornography.
He was arrested without incident and taken to the Bergen County Jail pending his first court appearance, officials said.
The sheriff's office said electronic devices seized during the search will undergo forensic examination as the investigation continues.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office assisted in the investigation.
